Two (2) decades ago AMZO LLC (USA) presciently invested in the Munda Multi-Purpose Dam Project concession now known as Mohmand Dam Hydropower Project. AMZO was formed in 2002 to pursue the development of the Munda Multi-Purpose Dam (“MMPD”) with the Private Power and Infrastructure Board (the “PPIB”) an agency of the Ministry of Water and Power. PPIB’s Panel of Experts approved the feasibility study on November 11, 2006, to AMZO LLC, USA to develop the MMPD under the private sector Build Own Operate Transfer (“BOOT”) program.
AMZO conducted the feasibility study that demonstrated the viability of this project. Without AMZO this project would not even be on the drawing board. Until the disastrous Indus River floods in 2010, this was a low priority for the Pakistani Government.
